CAN OPENER: LIVE AT A2 / LIVE AT SI

Live At A2 (11 July 2004) and Live At SI (06 September 2001) are signature live recordings from the early Fragment King iteration. These sets are digitally driven yet evoke the industrial grit of distorted guitars.

The Performances

Live At A2: This live performance features Powerbook and assorted effects. It was recorded at the Luitpold Lounge on occasion of the A2 architectural exhibition in Munich.

Live At SI: The SI performance took place in the backyard of a Brooklyn townhouse on the weekend before the September 11 attacks. In this manner, it is an audible time capsule of a lost era. For this performance, the entire studio was relocated – samplers and synthesizers, effects and pedals, mixers and cables, and a laptop.

The Releases

For the two Bandcamp albums, the live recordings were edited into individual tracks. This allows navigating them within the entire Fragment King WERK.

Live At SI was originally released as a cassette tape in the Halforganic series created by the Nexialist Organization. The original tape side A and B mixes can be purchased with the complete album.

Live At A2 features a continuous mixdown of the live set as a bonus track of the complete album purchase in addition to a further ambient glitch track.

With thanks to Peter Haimerl, Elisabeth Hartung, Alexander Müller, Maryam Shambayati.

Recorded on location and mastered my Mark Kammerbauer at White Furnace Lodge.
